Carni-X is a sterile injectable L-Carnitine solution. L-Carnitine is an essential cofactor in the carnitine palmitoyltransferase (CPT) system, facilitating transport of long-chain fatty acids across the inner mitochondrial membrane for β-oxidation. Research has examined its role in fatty acid metabolism, mitochondrial energy production, reduction of acylcarnitine accumulation, and cardioprotective effects in ischaemia models.
